Plotting/Meet and Greet

Before we got everything started in this whole RP, I thought it'd be best to get everyone acquainted with each other. And for some of us, figure our characters out.

Since only some of us have been able to actually play it, here are some important things to keep in mind regarding KH X (Chi)-verse:
  • Characters seem to be defined much more by which group they do or don't affiliate themselves with, as opposed to use of light/darkness
  • As a matter of fact, the whole concept of light and darkness as we know it in the main series seem to be almost an entirely new concept to the people of this world: the heartless appeared - darkness appeared - just recently, and now everyone is scrambling and using these new Keyblades that have also sprung out of nowhere to get these shards of light (called Lux) to fight them off/that the Heartless stole
  • On the same note, the system of Masters and Apprentices doesn't seem to exist yet. It's you, your Keyblade, and your faction (called a Union), who are just about as new at Keyblade wielding as you, backing you up. Because of this, being a Keyblade Wielder without belonging to any Union can be difficult and risky.
  • Heartless (obviously) are a very prevalent problem, but are also very new to the residents of the world
  • The primary form of rivalry between the different Unions seems to be competing to who can get the most Lux; At this point it seems to be a friendly rivalry, seeing as how they're all sharing the same town as a base of operations. This rivalry could erupt into actual conflict in the future, but they're a long, long way from that point as of right now.
  • The world is united, but different regions are still far enough apart and different enough to be basically known by the same names that they're known by in the games
  • The primary sort of "nexus" area where people of all different regions and Unions and such meet is called Daybreak Town (It's where our introductory mingle log will be)

If you don't have a full picture yet, feel free to post the ideas you have so far and add onto them as you go! Brainstorming is fun.

Also because of the nature of KHX (chi), some OCs may be of the self-inserty variety. This is PERFECTLY OKAY, so long as we can all be nice about it - no getting overly defensive of your OCs and no making others feel bad about theirs. This is a just-for-fun musebox, and we're all here to enjoy ourselves.

I've been having trouble picking Unions for my characters, since they don't seem to mean much of anything. So I went hunting for general symbolism about each of the animals used as mascots/namesakes for the Unions, and put together a short thing:
LEOPARDOS
Leopards are symbols of bravery, wisdom, and wildness. They are hunters and mysterious, and have a great need for privacy, giving them a reputation of being secret-keepers.

UNICORNIS
Unicorns are symbols of truth, innocence, and self-knowledge. They are associated with purification, as their signature horns have the ability to heal wounds and purify tainted water.

ANGUIS
Snakes are symbols of cunning, rebirth, and passion. They are known for their protective natures, and are often evoked as guardians.

VULPEUS
Foxes are symbols of intelligence, adaptability, and intuition. They are often seen as messengers of both good and ill fortune.

URSUS
Bears are symbols of strength, freedom, and nurturing. They are known for their contradictory nature, as they may be fierce, but also greatly enjoy the peaceful life, like lounging in the sun while eating honey.
So what do you guys think?

what was interesting to me is that they use the genus names. 'anguis' isn't actually for snakes, it's for slow worms, which are lizards that have lost all their limbs. visually about the same as snakes, but a different genus!

yeah, I was kind of surprised that they used anguis instead of serpentes or something relating to it

I'm going to personally blame TWEWY because of Megumi Kitaniji's Noise Form. Anguis Cantus is also a red cobra-like serpent.

same, especially considering there are only two species in the anguis genus. fun fact, though--slow worms can shed and regrow their tails to escape predators!
